Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I – East Meadow) would like to remind residents that, in conjunction with the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board, he will be hosting a car seat safety check event:
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
224 Seventh Street
Parking Field 6E
Garden City
This annual event is held by Assemblyman McKevitt to help educate parents on how to properly secure their children when traveling in a vehicle. The safety check takes about 20 minutes and drivers will be able to ask the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board representative questions regarding other safety tips as well.
“Protecting your child is the number one priority of every parent,” said McKevitt. “However, the truth is that parents are unknowingly installing most car seats incorrectly. My hope is that parents will attend this event so they can learn the correct installation method from a professional and ensure that their child is protected. It is great to know that by holding this event, parents can have greater peace of mind that their child is safe while in the car.”
Appointments are required for the safety check, so those wishing to schedule an appointment, receive more information or have a legislative concern should call Assemblyman McKevitt’s office at 516-739-5119 or e-mail him at mckevit@assembly.state.ny.us.
