June 16, 2011

Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I-East Meadow) is accepting nominations for his annual Women of Distinction award. Women 18 years and older, living in the 17th Assembly District are eligible. The Women of Distinction award works to honor women who contribute to their community in the areas of business, education, military, community affairs, education, health care, government and volunteerism.

“As I travel throughout the district, I meet women who work tirelessly to make this community a better place for those around them,” said McKevitt. “The Women of Distinction award is a great way for this community to honor our amazing friends, neighbors, mothers, sisters, and daughters. It is my honor to once again host this event, and I look forward to the selection-committee process and the award ceremony in August.”

Nominations can be accepted until July 8. The 2011 Women of Distinction award ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 13 at 11 a.m. at the Albertson VFW, 155 Searingtown Road in Albertson.
