Ra Reviewing Cuomo’s Budget

Assemblyman Edward Ra (21st Assembly District) today began an in-depth review of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Executive Budget. Ra analyzed the governor’s key proposed cuts and other recommendations in the 1,000-plus-page document which is seeking to close a projected $10 billion deficit. Assemblyman Ra is carefully reviewing all proposals within the 2011-2012 Executive Budget which would have a direct impact on his district.

“It’s not a question of ‘if’ we need to shrink the size and cost of government, but ‘how’ to best do so without compromising important programs and services to residents and taxpayers on Long Island.

“I will closely evaluate the Governor’s austerity budget and review his proposals. Long Islanders deserve a budget that does not raise taxes, promotes jobs, and protects the interests of our communities. I’m going back home to listen to the people in my community in order to respond effectively to their needs in the upcoming budget debate. I urge the taxpayers and residents in our community to contact me directly with any comments or questions they may have about the governor’s proposed budget.”
