Rozic Statement on Amsterdam Backing Out of Twin City Plans with Tel-Aviv

In response to news reports that Amsterdam would not be following through on their planned Sister City relationship with Tel Aviv, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows) issued the following statement:

"With increasing Anti-Semitic incidents in Holland and throughout Europe, now more than ever is the time to build bridges in support of global cooperation and cultural understanding,” said Rozic. “Tel-Aviv has 26 Sister Cities proving the strength and success in a movement dedicated to promoting exchange among policymakers and citizens. Having been born in Israel and now serving as an elected official in a city that has partnered with Tel-Aviv since 1996, I urge Mayor Eberhard van der Laan to re-visit the twin cities plan and strengthen bilateral relations."
