Hevesi Hosting Year Long Food Drive

Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi (D-Forest Hills) will be hosting a year long food drive beginning this week, and continuing through December of 2012. Canned non-perishable food can be dropped off at Assemblyman Hevesi’s district office during business hours, located at 70-50 Austin Street, Suite 110 in Forest Hills, NY. His office will periodically distribute the food to local food banks running short of stock. Assemblyman Hevesi chose to undertake the initiative after a constituent in the area discussed with him the need for a continuous stream of donations to food banks, outside of the holiday season.

“This food drive is a convenient opportunity for people to help aid local food banks all year long,” Hevesi said. “When you make a shopping trip to Austin Street, I encourage residents to stop by my office and donate some canned goods to the drive.”
