Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I – Corning) was, for the third year in a row, awarded the New York Farm Bureau’s “Circle of Friends” honor. Palmesano earned the award for his steadfast commitment to agriculture in New York and the vital roll it plays in the Empire State’s economy.

“Assemblyman Phil Palmesano received our Circle of Friends legislative award for 2013 based upon his work and strong voting record on issues of importance to New York agriculture. New York Farm Bureau appreciates the Assemblyman’s support of hardworking farmers in the state,” said Dean Norton, President of New York Farm Bureau.

“Agriculture is one of New York’s most important economic sectors, and I’m very excited and honored that the New York Farm Bureau has included me in their 2013 Circle of Friends,” said Palmesano. “I’ve had the privilege to see firsthand the positive impact that family farms have had on our region and will continue to advocate for agriculture and family farms, the backbone of our state’s economy.”

The New York Farm Bureau is New York State’s largest farm-advocacy organization. The “Circle of Friends” award is bestowed on lawmakers who have demonstrated strong support for agriculture and family farms, including sponsorship of bills that the Farm Bureau has highlighted during the legislative session.
