Statement from Assemblyman Bill Reilich
January 3, 2007

From property tax relief and revitalizing New York's economy to Workers’ Compensation reform, if the Governor is serious about these initiatives he will find many allies in the Assembly Minority Conference.

It is my hope that the Governor will be able to implement many of these initiatives he proposed to eliminate bureaucracy and reform the dysfunction in Albany.

Property tax relief and reform of Workers' Compensation have been top priorities of my Assembly Minority colleagues and me for many years. I am pleased that the Governor intends to focus on revitalizing the Upstate economy.

I will continue to work toward reform and welcome the Governor's assistance in reaching this goal.

My colleagues and I will be looking to Speaker Silver to allow these common-sense initiatives to move ahead so we can really begin to reform Albany and get the economy of New York back on track.
