July 4th Is A Day To Remember America’s Independence And The Men And Women Who Have Fought To Keep Our Nation Free
June 29, 2007

The 4th of July is a day of barbecuing and watching fireworks in celebrating the independence of our great nation. It is also a time to remember the brave men and women who, for over two centuries, have fought to ensure that America stays free and committed to principles of the Declaration of Independence.

On July 4, 1776, our founding fathers issued the Declaration of Independence that signified our break with Great Britain and laid out the foundation of the new nation, a nation where all men are created equal, and have certain inalienable rights, among them, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

The rights and freedoms that Americans enjoy have not been obtained lightly; great sacrifices have been made by those in our Armed Forces, individuals who today continue to fight for the freedoms and rights we hold so dearly.

Please take a moment this 4th of July to reflect on the brave men and women who continue the struggle to preserve the rights and freedoms that we enjoy everyday.
