Reilich Urges Monroe County Homeowners to Apply For Their 2007 Middle Class STAR Rebate Check
New Deadline is December 31
December 21, 2007

Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R,C,I-Greece) is reminding eligible homeowners that they have until December 31 to apply for the New York State Middle Class STAR rebate check. Reilich noted that the application deadline was recently extended, giving homeowners an additional month to apply for their rebate.

“If you have not already applied for your rebate check, do so now,” said Reilich. “It would be a shame if homeowners missed out on the chance to get some of their hard earned money back from the state’s coffers.”

Individuals enrolled in the Basic STAR program have to fill out an application to verify their income and return it to the state Department of Taxation and Finance by December 31, 2007 to receive their check. Individuals in Enhanced STAR should have already received their checks by mail.

Reilich noted that eligible homeowners in the Basic STAR program should have received their application forms for the rebate program by mail, which includes a unique STAR code that easily identifies a homeowner’s property to aid them in the application process.

“If you did not receive an application and believe that you are eligible for a rebate check, you can obtain an application by contacting the Department of Taxation and Finance at (877) 678-2769,” remarked Reilich. “Individuals can also apply online at www.nystax.gov. If you have additional questions or concerns regarding the 2007 STAR rebate program, feel free to contact my district office at (585) 225-4190.”
