Reilich Participates in Reading Week
April 6, 2009

Pictured above, Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R,C,I-Greece) enjoying his annual trip to Canal View Elementary School this past week to participate as a guest reader. Each year, Canal View Elementary School in Spencerport devotes an entire week to emphasizing the importance of reading. During the week-long event student volunteers escort guest readers throughout their school.
“Reading is a never-ending adventure,” stated Reilich. “Reading can take you to faraway places and open up a world of information.”
During reading week, guest readers select an age-appropriate book to share with the classroom. Assemblyman Reilich enjoyed sharing some of his reading time by inviting the students to join him in reading a page or two during the story. Everyone enjoyed the detective story the Assemblyman chose that wove its way through each one of the clues.
“I am proud to be invited yearly to participate in such a positive event here in our district,” Reilich said. “Reading is an important part of learning and it is wonderful to see the kids so enthusiastic to participate in reading week each year.”
