Reilich Announces Start Of 2009 Support Our Troops Drive

Assemblyman encourages community to participate in annual drive

Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R,C,I-Greece) today announced the beginning of this year’s annual Support Our Troops drive. The event will begin Memorial Day and last until Veterans’ Day. The Assemblyman’s office will gather donated supplies into care packages, which will be shipped to local troops serving overseas.

“So many individuals from our community are in the armed forces, dedicating their lives to fighting for our freedom and safety,” stated Reilich. “The annual Support Our Troops drive is a great way for the community to join together in thanking our troops by sending them care packages with amenities to remind them how much we appreciate them.”

During past Support Our Troops drives, Assemblyman Reilich’s district supported over 200 troops with donations from many individual community members, as well as local schools and civic groups.
