Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R,C,I-Greece) today reminded the public that the annual Support Our Troops drive, which runs until Veterans’ Day, is still in need of donations. The Assemblyman’s office has been gathering donations since Memorial Day to make care packages for local troops who are serving overseas.
“The Support Our Troops drive is a successful event that has blessed many of our local troops who sacrifice being with their families in order to fight for our freedom,” stated Reilich. “The event is a great way for people in our community to join together in thanking those who have dedicated their lives to serving our great nation.”
During last year’s Support Our Troops drive, Assemblyman Reilich’s district supported over 200 members of the military with donations from individuals across the community, as well as local schools and civic groups. Donation drop sites are located at Assemblyman Bill Reilich’s district office, 2737 West Ridge Road in Greece, and Ogden Town Hall, 269 Ogden Center Road in Spencerport.
“I encourage community members to join us in this year’s Support Our Troops drive by donating supplies or by providing the names of local servicemen and women. Through your contribution you will help make a difference for a man or woman serving from our local area,” said Reilich.
For more information on suggested items for donation, or to inform Assemblyman Bill Reilich of an individual that you know who would like to receive a care package, please call 225-4190.
