Reilich Awards Medal Of Merit To Local Serviceman
Assemblyman presents Medal of Merit to retired CPL James Thomas of Greece
September 3, 2009


Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R,C,I-Greece) today presented the New York State Medal of Merit to Greece resident James Thomas, former Corporal in the United States Army. To be honored with the Medal of Merit, an individual must be a resident of New York or a member of the organized militia of New York state, whose entire service was honorable and who has been rewarded with honors of valor, achievement, commendation, or meritorious service decoration of a lesser degree.

“Retired CPL James Thomas has exemplified service and honor throughout his career in the United States Army. It is individuals like CPL Thomas that give up so much to ensure the safety and security of those in our community, state, and country at large,” stated Reilich. “I am honored to present CPL James Thomas with the New York State Medal of Merit, in recognition for his service and dedication to the United States of America and the state of New York.”

CPL James Thomas, pictured above with Assemblyman Bill Reilich, also has been decorated with the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
