New License Plates New Addition To Albany’s Dysfunction
A legislative statement by Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R,C,I-Greece)
November 10, 2009
In a time when hard-working families are struggling to stay afloat, the governor is calling for the re-issuance of new license plates, a cost that will be passed on to all vehicle owners. This fee would take place starting in 2010, and at the same time that individuals will be filing for the renewal of their vehicle registration, the last thing we need is another fee. I call on the governor to withdraw this notion of placing yet another fee on the people of Monroe County and the state as a whole. It is time we fix our budget woes, not with a Band-Aid of raised taxes and fees that we pass on to the people, but rather by taking an inward look at Albany’s dysfunction. I will not vote for any tax and fee increases on the people of this state.
