Time Is Ticking On New York’s Budget; Another Week Wasted
A legislative statement by Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R,C,I-Greece)
November 19, 2009

Once again, the Assembly Minority Conference has gathered in hopes of settling the $3.7 billion budget deficit. However, as we have seen over and over again during the past two weeks of this extraordinary session, the majority legislative leaders have shown utter disregard for the economic crisis we are in by not even attending session this evening.

The Assembly Minority Conference has presented numerous ideas and solutions for handling our current economic crisis, most of which are dependent upon a swift application. The longer state leaders wait to solve the budget crisis, the bigger and more detrimental it becomes. I urge state leaders in the Senate and Assembly to call their Conferences back to Albany tonight.
