Assemblyman Mark Johns (R,C-Webster) meets with SCOPE Legislative Director and constituent Bill Gibson.
“It’s important that we remember our sportsmen advocates are law-abiding individuals that are persevering what often is a tradition passed down through family generations,” said Johns. “Licensed gun owners are often the target of intrusive New York laws. Instead, our focus in Albany should be aimed at increasing punishment for those who use firearms in an unlawful manner.”
Johns met with other sportsmen as well. Among the other groups in attendance were New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, the Conservation Alliance of New York, and the New York Conservation Council, to name a few. New York’s outdoor sports industry generates over $1 million in the state economy. The assemblyman is committed to protecting this important way of life for shooters, hunters, trappers and anglers.
