Unshackle Upstate Issues Hawley Perfect Score

Legislator acknowledged for pro-growth voting record

For the second consecutive time, Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,I,C – Batavia) received a perfect score from Unshackle Upstate on the commitment to economic growth displayed by his voting record. Hawley was among only four out of 212 state legislators to earn a 100 percent rating on the scorecard, which examines votes and sponsorship on pro-taxpayer legislation that will help spur job creation in New York. The assemblyman also received a perfect score on the group’s 2009-10 scorecard.

“Creating jobs in Western New York and across the state cannot be accomplished overnight. It requires a commitment day in and day out, year-after-year to lowering taxes and creating a business-friendly environment that will attract job creators to our communities,” said Hawley. “Unshackle Upstate is a consistent advocate for hardworking taxpayers of New York, and I am proud to continue working alongside them as we fight for job growth and economic opportunity.”

Unshackle Upstate is a bipartisan coalition of over 80 business and trade organizations representing upward of 70,000 companies and employing more than 1.5 million people with the goal of achieving reforms in Albany that make Upstate New York a stronger place to do business.
