Assemblyman Dennis Gabryszak( D,I-Cheektowaga) is pleased to see that the Senate has put aside politics and has passed the “Green Homes, Green Jobs” legislation. This initiative is designed to direct federal grants and private investment to communities and residential homes to help revitalize the economy in an energy-independent and responsible way (A. 8901).
“This program will have two main objectives, first; it will help revitalize the local economy by injecting much needed money into our local communities and second it will direct this money to innovative environmental technology which will make our homes and businesses more energy efficient,” said Assemblyman Gabryszak.
Assemblyman Gabryszak went on to say; “This program is designed to be a comprehensive energy initiative, it will reward communities that make the switch to more efficient methods to heat, cool and light their homes and businesses. Likewise this program will aid the local economy by using local businesses to carryout the work of making our communities more energy efficient.”
Assemblyman Gabryszak concluded; “I am proud to have helped push forward this legislation, the green economy is the path to economic revitalization in Western New York. “I urge the Governor to join the Assembly and Senate into signing this measure into law.”
