Welcome Letter

Dear Neighbor,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to my Assembly website. I hope you will find the information contained here useful and informative. It is truly an honor to represent the residents of the 148th Assembly District in Albany, as there are many issues decided there that affect our daily lives.

The 148th Assembly District spans three counties, including all of Cattaraugus County, all of Allegany County and the towns of Greenwood, Jasper, Troupsburg and West Union in Steuben County. In total, there are 65 towns, 19 villages, two cities and parts of three Seneca Nation of Indians reservations. My assembly district is one of the largest in the state in terms of size and serves many local governments, libraries, school districts, volunteer fire departments and other constituencies.

I serve on several committees that are important to the district; each has its own set of challenging issues, and all are enjoyable. Over the course of my tenure in the Assembly, I have fought for openness and transparency in government, relieving localities of their burdensome state mandates in order to achieve lower property tax rates, cracking down on Medicaid waste, fraud and abuse, protecting children and families from predators in our communities and many other important issues that are critical to the well-being of the good people in the district.

Please take a minute to navigate my website. Hopefully, you'll find the information useful. Also, do not hesitate to get in touch with me if I may be helpful in any way. Thank you for visiting.

Sincerely,
Joseph M. Giglio
Member of Assembly
