Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C–Holbrook) is encouraging students on Long Island to dive into a book during vacation and participate in his second annual Summer Reading Challenge. Brochures have been distributed to local schools and libraries in addition to being available online.

“Learning doesn’t stop over summer vacation,” said Graf. “In fact, there is no better time for our schoolchildren to dive into the world of adventure and mystery that literature can offer than during the summertime. I encourage all of our children to take part in my summer reading challenge so that they can discover everything that reading has to offer from both an intellectual and personal standpoint.”

Children that spend time reading for 40 days over the summer will receive a New York State Assembly “Excellence in Reading” Certificate from Assemblyman Graf. Brochures can be obtained from many local libraries, or by contacting the assemblyman’s district office at 631-589-8685.
