Assemblyman Brook-Krasny Announces Property Tax Reductions for Homes & Businesses Hit by Sandy
Deadline extended until June 20th for property owners to appeal assessed value
May 28, 2013
Dear Neighbor,
My email yesterday included an incorrect link.
As I indicated yesterday, the Tax Commission has extended the deadline for property owners impacted by Hurricane Sandy to appeal the assessed value. This extension is offered to any property with a decrease in either their market or assessed value due to Sandy changes.
Homeowners may file an Application for Correction with the Tax Commission and must do so by June 20th. Forms are available on the Tax Commission's website, http://www.nyc.gov/html/taxcomm.
Feel free to call my office at (718) 266-0267 or (718) 680-2845 or email me at brookkrasnya@assembly.state.ny.us if you have questions or need any further assistance.
