Assemblyman Lavine Announces a $695,000 Grant for Glen Cove’s Waterfront
January 15, 2008

Glen Cove – Assemblyman Charles D. Lavine was in Albany on Tuesday, January 15 when Patrick Foye, Downstate Chairman of Empire State Development, along with Lieutenant Governor David Paterson announced that the City of Glen Cove has been allocated $695,000.00 to redevelop Glen Cove’s Ferry Terminal. This project is an extension of the revitalization of Glen Cove’s waterfront.

Assemblyman Lavine said “This grant is a big step in the right direction.” He continued, “Redeveloping Glen Cove’s waterfront is vital to our economic growth and stability.”

Assemblyman Lavine wishes to commend the City of Glen Cove for its excellent preparation of their grant request, particularly due to the fact that these grant applications are highly competitive.

The $695,000 is part of $100 million dollars in statewide grants and comes from Governor Spitzer’s Restore New York initiative.
