Assemblyman Lavine Secures Over $3.1M for Glen Cove
April 14, 2008
Glen Cove – Assemblyman Charles D. Lavine announced that the just enacted state budget includes $3,134,438 in funding for the city of Glen Cove. This represents an increase of $142,323 over last year’s Aid and Incentives to Municipalities program (AIM).
“I am pleased that Glen Cove is receiving an increase in AIM funding in the current state budget,” Assemblyman Lavine said.
AIM dollars are designed to assist local governments. Funds provided through AIM reduce property tax increases, provide and restore services to the community and help economic development investments.
“The City is grateful for any assistance that provides tax relief to its residents,” Mayor Ralph Suozzi said.
“AIM funding is crucially important because each dollar received back from Albany represents a dollar that does not have to be paid back by our neighbors in the form of real property taxes,” Assemblyman Lavine commented.
The $3,143,438 represents 5% of Glen Cove’s budget.
