Glen Cove Ė Assemblyman Charles D. Lavine (D-Glen Cove) would like to thank community members for their generous donations to this winterís Coats for Kids drive. From November 2008 through January 2009, Assemblyman Lavineís district office in Glen Cove served as a drop-off site for the program and received more than 1,000 coats. Among the warmhearted donors who collected and donated Coats for Kids were fifth-grader Stephanie Cuomo; teacher Carolyn Bentsen and students from St. Brigidís Our Lady of Hope in Westbury; members of the Sid Jacobson JCC in East Hills; members of Temple Judea of Manhasset and members of the Glen Cove Teachersí Association. The donated coats were brought to Randiís Cleaners in Mineola where they were cleaned and picked up by various agencies to be distributed to children in need. This annual program is sponsored by the National Cleaners Association; Assemblyman Lavine has participated in partnership with Randiís Cleaners since taking office in 2005.
