Assemblyman Charles D. Lavine (D-Glen Cove) is pleased to announce staff changes to his Glen Cove district office.
Tara Butler, who has worked for the assemblyman since September of 2007, has been appointed chief of staff and Carolyn Willson, on staff since February 2008, is now community relations director. New to the staff is Carla Santella, who holds the title of communications director.
Ms. Butler holds a degree in communications from New York University. She worked for a number of years as a television producer for WLIW 21 PBS and later went on to work for Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi. In addition to her work with Assemblyman Lavine, Ms. Butler currently does freelance writing for The Boulevard magazine and serves as vice president of the Glen Cove Kiwanis Club.
Ms. Willson served as deputy mayor and/or city clerk for the City of Glen Cove for 18 years, before which she served as an aide to Congressman Ambro. She is a former chairman of emergency services for the Nassau County American Red Cross and a former EMT for the City of Glen Cove EMS; she currently serves as vice chair of the Melillo Mental Health Center Board.
Carla Santella comes to the staff following a seven-year stint with the Glen Cove Record Pilot, where she served as writer, reporter and editor.
