Participants in the program were Joshua Garay of Jericho, a graduate of SUNY Binghamton with a major in economics; Max Lubin of Great Neck, a senior at North Shore Hebrew Academy; Shara Scottland of Jericho, a student at Tulane University with majors in political science and communications who will be studying in London next semester; Michelle Vita of Jericho, a student at SUNY Albany; and Michelle Zar of Woodbury, a student at Vanderbilt University with majors in political science and psychology.
Assemblyman Lavine said, “One of the highlights of my summer months is the opportunity to work with interns who have a desire to pursue a career in government or politics. Joshua, Max, Michelle, Shara and Michelle filled my office with interesting and insightful conversation and discussion. I enjoyed the intern program very much and in the end, I believe I learned more from our five interns than they could have learned from me. I wish to thank them for their participation and wish them the best of luck going forward through life.”
