Lavine Attends Memorial for Domestic Violence Victims
November 3, 2010

To recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Assemblyman Charles D. Lavine joined Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink at a somber memorial ceremony for victims of domestic violence held at the Nassau County Theodore Roosevelt Legislative and Executive Building. The event featured life-sized cutouts to represent murdered women; each cutout included the victim’s story.
Assemblyman Lavine said, “I commend the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Nassau County Family Violence Task Force both for sponsoring this event and for their continued work in empowering victims of domestic and sexual assault and in changing the social systems that tolerate and perpetuate such abuse.”
