Justice for the Justice System

Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C,I-East Aurora) has joined many of his colleagues in sponsoring a new bill introduced by Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I-Deerpark) to repeal the criminal justice package passed by the Assembly this year. Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I-Deerpark) to repeal the criminal justice package passed by the Assembly. The package of bills was condemned by law enforcement officials for removing judicial discretion on holding prisoners, grossly expanding cash bail options for sex offenders, murderers, and potential terrorists and other so-called ‘reforms’. DiPietro is concerned that more reforms will follow these and further damage the justice system

“Repealing the travesty that was the justice reform packages last session is an amazing idea,” DiPietro said. “The rampage of downstate liberals must be curtailed. Otherwise, legislation like this bail reform package, which lets pedophiles and murderers out onto the street, will just be the start. We must not allow the sanctity of our justice system to be tainted by a new leftist ideology that doesn’t want to protect the public, law enforcement officials or even criminals from becoming the status quo. I commend Assemblyman Brabenec and he has my full support.”
