On his third day on the floor of the New York State Assembly, Assemblyman Doug Smith speaks in support of an Assembly bill that would decouple teacher and school evaluations from the deeply flawed Common Core based state exams.

Following his speech in the chamber, Assemblyman Smith said, “I was proud to speak on the floor in favor of the bill that decouples teacher and principal evaluations from the inappropriate and unnecessary State ELA & Math Assessments for grades 3-8. The parents in my district have overwhelmingly (over 70%) opted their children out of these flawed exams, now I support giving our schools the ability to opt-out their teachers and principals from them as well.”
