Assemblyman Ed Ra joins students from H. Frank Carey High School to raise money for cancer research and survivors.
“It is an all too unfortunate reality that nearly everyone today knows someone who has been affected by cancer,” said Ra. “Those battling cancer are an inspiration for all participating in the Relay for Life. The money raised from this remarkable event not only helps lead to groundbreaking cancer research, but also raises awareness about the need for people of all ages to stay physically fit. I encourage residents across Long Island to take preventative measures and schedule regular doctor visits to help reduce the risk of cancer.”
Before the relay began, Assemblyman Ra joined students and staff from H. Frank Carey High School for a dinner in honor of cancer survivors.
“Being around and hearing the stories from those who have courageously battled against cancer was inspirational. I want to thank those who attended the dinner, supported the relay and participated in the event,” concluded Ra.
