Assemblywoman Buttenschon to Host ‘Smart Seniors’ Sessions

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D-Utica) will be hosting the ‘Smart Seniors’ program in conjunction with the office of the New York State Attorney General.

“Seniors being targeted for scam and fraud attempts is becoming more widespread,” says Buttenschon. “Offering the education to help seniors recognize these crimes will hopefully give them the tools to stay safe and fight back.”

The New York State Office of the Attorney General protects New Yorkers from fraud and abuse. This program will help seniors understand how scams work, and how they can protect themselves from falling victim to scams and identity theft. It will also discuss internet safety, elder abuse, and fraud.

10:30 am – South Rome Senior Center, 112 Ridge Street, Rome
