Assemblywoman Buttenschon Seeks Nominations for 2020 Police Recognition Awards

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D-Utica/Rome) has announced that she is seeking nominations in the 119th Assembly District for her Police Recognition Awards in honor of National Police Week, which is held from May 10 to May 16.

“As we continue to battle the ongoing public health crisis, it’s more important than ever that we honor the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our communities,” Buttenschon said. “The Mohawk Valley is home to countless, remarkable law enforcement officers who are showing up to work every day to ensure our families are safe in these difficult and uncertain times. These awards are a great way to recognize and honor these local heroes for their tireless efforts.”

Buttenschon is encouraging residents of the 119th Assembly District to nominate law enforcement officers who have gone above and beyond to protect the Mohawk Valley. All entries must include the nominee’s name, place of work and a brief sentence on why he or she has been nominated. Submissions must be submitted online at nyassembly.gov/Buttenschon by Saturday, May 16.
