Simpson: Third Budget Extender Signals Continued One-Party Dysfunction

A Statement from Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R, C-Horicon) on the continued late state budget

“Majority leadership’s single-party rule is failing New Yorkers by not addressing the failures of bail reform in a timely manner all while violent crime is on the rise. In yet another example of Albany dysfunction, the budget is now 18 days late and there’s no sign that Majority lawmaker’s leadership is close to compromise. This is not Albany’s finest hour. I, along with my colleagues, hope to reach common-sense conclusions to the budget this week that address affordability for the residents of our state, keeping them from leaving for more tax-friendly states.”
