Simpson Stands Against Foundation Aid Cuts

A Statement from Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C-Horicon)

“The governor's proposed foundation aid cuts are detrimental to education. The Assembly's proposed budget, which allocates $36.4 billion to General Support for Public Schools, is more sufficient and appropriate for the future of our kids. By rejecting the governor's proposals the Assembly ensures the preservation of the “hold harmless” provision and upholds the inflation rate formula for foundation aid. We must prioritize equitable education funding. The inclusion of a $2 billion Smart Schools Bond Act underscores this commitment by providing cutting-edge technology for delivering a world-class education to all students,” said Simpson.
