Assemblyman
Phil Ramos
Assembly District 6

Dear Neighbor,

Welcome to my new Assembly Website. This is the place where I will keep you updated on the latest news and laws we are working on at the State Capitol and how it affects our community. I also invite you to take a look at the photo gallery which features pictures of Islip residents and local events.

The 6th Assembly District includes parts of Bay Shore, Baywood, Brentwood, Central Islip, Hauppauge, Islip, Islandia and North Bay Shore. To those of you whom I have not yet had the good fortune of meeting let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I’ve called Brentwood home for the past 50 years and raised my two children here and as your Assemblyman I’ve worked hard to make Suffolk County the best possible place to live, work and raise a family. As part of this effort, I’ve fought to ease the property tax burden on working Islip families and to facilitate job creation and business development in our community.

I believe our children deserve every opportunity we can provide for them. That’s why I’ve helped secure record funding for local schools and worked to expand Child Health Plus to provide quality healthcare coverage to more children. I also remain committed to keeping our streets safe by working to get guns and gangs out of our neighborhoods.

On this site you’ll find more information on these issues and others. I encourage you to browse the website and contact my office with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your visit.
