Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and Assembly Member Rebecca A. Seawright Release a Joint Economic Committee Report on Gender Pay Inequity

On Friday, April 8, 2016 Assembly Member Seawright will join Carolyn Maloney to release a Joint Economic Committee Report on Gender Pay Inequity with Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab. The round table will begin at 10:00 am and will be followed by a press conference at 11:00 am at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute of Hunter College, 47-49 East 65th Street.

Pay Inequity in the workforce across New York State is alarming. Females are unrepresented and underpaid in every field but represent 57.2% of the workforce. In New York State, women earn 84 cents for every dollar a man earns. “Over the course of a career, women will lose between $450,000 to $1,000,000. We need to strive for a world where equal work equates to equal pay. I am proud to stand with Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and all women across New York State in the fight for equal pay!” said Assembly Member Rebecca A. Seawright.
