Pheffer Amato, Addabbo Hosting Paper Shredding Event

Rockaway Beach, New York – As a way to help their constituents clear out files and properly dispose of personal papers, State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and Assemblymember Stacey Pheffer-Amato are bringing a free paper shredding event to the Rockaways later this month.

On Sunday, October 27, staff from USA Shred will be at the St. Camillus parking lot, located at 99-15 Rockaway Beach Boulevard (residents are asked to enter on Beach 99th Street), between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., shredding paper and documents in their shredding vehicle, all while you watch from a viewing monitor outside of the truck.

“With the great success of the recycling event I recently co-hosted at Forest Park – especially the paper shredding aspect – I wanted to give my constituents another chance to come and have their personal documents shredded safely and securely,” Addabbo said. “It is important to know that your documents, or your clients documents, with sensitive personal information like social security numbers and account numbers have been properly shredded and recycled.”

“I am so excited to bring this event to Rockaway! Finding a place to dispose of personal and confidential documents is very challenging,” Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Rockaway Beach) said. “I thank Senator Addabbo for partnering on this crucial event and St. Camillus for allowing us to use their space!”

Items that cannot be shredded during this event include any cardboard, newspapers, file folders, and metals or plastics. There will be a five (5) copy box limit on how much can be shredded by per person to ensure that all participants have the opportunity to shred their materials.

“I would like to thank St. Camillus for once again allowing us to use their parking lot for a fantastic community event, Stacey for partnering up with me on this to help keep our communities clean, and USA Shred for providing this free service to the community,” Addabbo added.
