Pheffer Amato Hosts Final Summer Reading Challenge Ceremonies of 2019

South Queens, New York- Earlier this year Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) announced the launch of her 2019 Summer Reading Challenge. In order to complete the challenge, students were required to mark the calendar provided by Pheffer Amato’s office for each day in July and August pledging that they read for at least 15 minutes on the days. Once the challenge was completed, parents and schools have mailed the materials back, and Pheffer Amato then produced a certificate for each student who completed the Summer Reading Challenge.

“Over the past several months, I've had the opportunity to present Summer Reading awards to hundreds of students for their success in completing the summer reading challenge,” Pheffer Amato said. “The schools included: PS/MS 114, PS/MS 47, PS/MS 146, PS 377Q, PS/MS 232, St. Helen's Catholic Academy, Divine Mercy Catholic Academy, PS 63, PS 253, PS 207, PS 197, PS 202, Q317 Waterside Children’s Studio, Q318- Waterside Leadership, and Scholars’ Academy. At each school, the auditoriums were filled with the scholar’s parents, caregivers, and loved ones celebrating a summer full of reading! Keep reading and look out for my Summer Reading Challenge in 2020!”
