The Program will include the demolition of the existing Central Terminal Building and associated infrastructure and the construction of a new 1.3 million square foot, 35 gate terminal building; a new aeronautical ramp; frontage roads that will serve the new terminal; a new central heating and refrigeration plant; and other utilities and site improvements. The second half of the new unified terminal is expected to be developed by Delta Air Lines, beginning its redevelopment of its terminals on a parallel track. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo kicked off the first phase of the transformational redesign of New York Penn Station and the historic James A. Farley Post Office. Governor Cuomo, alongside Empire State Development, Amtrak and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, issued a joint solicitation to developers for the redevelopment, design and construction of the these two facilities as part of the Empire Station Complex - a world-class transportation hub, complete with significant passenger improvements and best-in-class amenities, to dramatically improve the overall passenger experience.

The joint solicitation includes a Request for Proposals for the Farley Building, and a Request for Expressions of Interest/Request for Qualifications for New York Penn Station. Applications are available on ESD's website. Responses were due by April 22, 2016.

New York State Casino Projects

The New York State Gaming Commission has approved licenses to resort gaming destinations in Sullivan, Schenectady, Seneca and Tioga Counties, ushering new jobs and investment, as well as revenue for local governments and school districts that will come to the regions as a result.
