to Announce Shared Services, Environmental Protection Grants for Westchester County
Tarrytown - New York Secretary of State Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez will join state and
local lawmakers and community groups on Wednesday, January 27, to discuss the
multiple shared services and Environmental Protection Fund grants that the Department
of State recently awarded to municipalities across Westchester County.
Secretary Cortés-Vázquez will also release the Department of State's Local Government
Efficiency Program Annual Report, highlighting ways in which the Department has provided
financial and technical assistance to local governments to reduce taxpayer costs through
consolidation of services and improved fiscal efficiency.

Since the inception of the Local Government Efficiency Program in 2005, the Department of
State has made 270 awards to local governments totaling some $45 million for an estimated
savings of $418 million to taxpayers.
