I am saddened to hear of the death of Richard Ravitch. His passing is a tremendous loss for our state. Richard’s long and storied career was wide-reaching – leaving his mark on state and federal policy, the MTA, and even Major League Baseball. He was a fount of unmatched institutional knowledge. During Richard’s tenure in the Paterson administration, he was known as a problem solver during a time when it was desperately needed, a voice of reason and a source of solutions. He was always happy to share his experience and knowledge, giving advice and guidance in a caring and respectful way. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends at this time. He will be missed.
