LEGISLATIVE ACTION
The Legislature denies legislation proposed by the Executive that
would merge the Division of Probation and Correctional Alternatives
(DPCA) into a new Department of Justice (DOJ), and allows DPCA to
continue as an independent agency. Further, the Legislature rejects
the Executive`s Community Corrections Block Grant Proposal and adds
funding for County Probation Aid and various Alternatives to
Incarceration (ATI) and Juvenile Intensive Supervision (JISP) programs
and services.
