Budget Highlights |
State Operations Northeastern Queens Nature and Historical Preserve Commission The Executive recommends the elimination of $92,000 in State support for the Commission's operations in SFY 2003-04, resulting in the elimination of two Full-time Equivalent (FTE) positions. Statewide Energy Improvements The Executive does not propose any new Special Revenue Other appropriations to support the Federal Petroleum Overcharge Recovery (POCR) Program in SFY 2003-04. Aid To Localities Metropolitan Transportation Authority The Executive proposes a contingency appropriation for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in the amount of $536,100,000, an increase of $59,200,000 or 12.4 percent from State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2002-03. This contingency appropriation will support debt service payments for the MTA in SFY 2004-05 in the event the State budget for that year is not passed on April 1, 2004. Tribal State Compact Revenue The Tribal State Compact Revenue appropriation of $13,750,000 represents the local share of proceeds from the Niagara Falls Indian Gaming Casino for the current calendar year. The proceeds would be distributed pursuant to a plan developed by the USA Niagara Development Corporation in consultation with municipal governments that host tribal casinos, pursuant to a tribal-state compact entered into pursuant to section 12(a) of the Executive Law. |
