Assemblyman Hevesi Presents Proclamation to Forest Hills High School Saul Goodnick for “A” Rating on 2010 NYC Progress Reports
Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi, Senator Toby Ann Stavisky and Councilmember Karen Koslowitz gathered at Forest Hills High School on Tuesday, December 14, to congratulate Forest Hills High School Principal Saul Goodnick for the school’s “A” rating in their 2010 NYC Progress Report. Assemblyman Hevesi presented a proclamation at this event, highlighting the achievements of the principal, faculty, staff, parents, and students that contributed to this success. This proclamation also recognized that Forest Hills High School was the only school of their size, population, and resources in New York City to receive an A grade and congratulated them for this remarkable success.
“We are here today to congratulate Principal Saul Goodnick, staff and the faculty at Forest Hills High School, particularly considering the issues they’re dealing with, such as overcrowding and budget cuts, for their A grade of their report card in the three areas of achievement that are rated in these reports. This is one of the best schools in the city and it continues to get better, and to do it under such difficult circumstances is really an achievement. Thank you for all your hard work, we are very proud of you,” said Assemblyman Hevesi to Principal Goodnick as he presented him with a proclamation.
Councilmember Koslowitz, who presented Principal Goodnick with a citation, said “Forest Hills High School has long been a source of pride and excellence in the community. I know this firsthand as my own two daughters attended and excelled there. The A rating they received for two years in a row from the Department of Education shows that the students and teachers are thriving in a wonderful learning environment. I congratulate Principal Goodnick and everyone who makes Forest Hills High School such a terrific place.”
Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky, who also presented the principal with a citation, said, "I am very proud to have Forest Hills High School in my district, and delighted that they have received an A. That this is such a consistently high-performing school in spite of crowded conditions is testament to the students' hard work, their parents' involvement, and Principal Saul Goodnick's and the teachers' dedication."
