Assembly Member Wieder has successfully brought a $100,000 state grant to the Town of Orangetown to fund the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Hunt Road and Orangeburg Road.

The grant will allow the town to add a much-needed traffic signal device at this busy intersection, which has experienced multiple accidents in recent years. The safety improvement is especially important for drivers and residents of the nearby senior living community.

Town Supervisor Kenny expressed her gratitude for the Assembly Member’s efforts. “On behalf of the entire Town of Orangetown, I want to thank Assembly Member Wieder for bringing this important grant to our community,” Supervisor Kenny said. “This funding will directly enhance the safety of our residents at this busy intersection, which has seen multiple accidents in recent years.”

Assembly Member Wieder said he was thrilled to help deliver the project. “I am so glad to be able to help the Town of Orangetown install this critical traffic signal device near the senior living community,” Wieder stated. “Thanks to this state grant, we are making a real difference. The residents of Orangetown will be much safer with this important safety improvement.”

The new traffic signal is expected to reduce accidents and provide clearer, safer passage for all who travel through the intersection. Construction is anticipated to begin in the coming months.
