7. Redemption centers are small local businesses that play a key role in recycling cans/bottles. Many redemption centers have closed because the handling fee (3.5 cents per can) is insufficient to cover the increased labor costs for sorting. I have introduced a bill that raises the fee to 5 cents and addresses fraud. Would you support this? (Note: the handling fee is not paid by the consumer)
