Tague Calls for Special Session to Tackle Real Issues, Not Pay Raises for State Legislators

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie) today criticizedthe Majority lawmakers call to hold a special session to give themselves a pay raise. New York state legislators are currently the second-highest paid in the country, trailing only those in California.

“I keep hearing chatter about my colleagues in the Majority wanting to call a special session to give themselves a pay raise. We should be holding a special session to tackle real issues that matter to all New Yorkers, such as bail reform, public safety and security and reducing the cost of fuel and grocery prices.Majority lawmakers in this state are once again looking out for themselves and not the people they represent,” Tague said.
