Tague Blasts Lack of Funding Directed Towards New York’s Veteran Organizations

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie) is echoing the sentiment shared by many legislators in Albany today over the lack of consistent veteran funding. Donations have been collected by the state to help cover a number of veteran-related expenses, from family relief to veteran cemetery maintenance to homeless assistance, but disbursements from the state have been non-existent.

“The veterans that return to their home state deserve a warmer welcome than they have so far been receiving, and it’s unfortunate this government has failed them in that regard,” Tague said. “This state, in partnership with veterans’ organizations, has helped raise millions for veterans and their families, yet the state has yet to disperse these collected funds in full. There is no excuse for a delay in providing financial relief to our men and women of the armed forces, and I hope this government soon understands the importance of that.”
