Tague: Protect Our Tip Credit Workers

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) attended a press conference showing support for tip credit workers and calling on the governor to unilaterally abandon his plan to gut tip workers-take home pay. Gov. Cuomo’s proposal would remove the ability for an individual to earn tips and would instead raise their minimum wage, making it more difficult for energized and hardworking people to provide for their families.

“I strongly oppose this move by the governor,” Tague said. “Too many families depend on their take-home pay through their applied effort and personal grit. Taking away the opportunity to earn this money is almost as bad as stealing. I firmly stand alongside these hard-working folks in telling Cuomo to leave the industry alone, too much is at stake.”
