Tague Calls for Funding To Support Direct-Care Workers

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) stood with advocates and legislative leaders in the Capitol on Monday, March 25 to call for additional funding for direct-care workers in the final 2019-20 State Budget. The funds that support direct-care workers have been left out of the governor’s budget, and Tague joined the rally to call on him to support those who care for the helpless.

“Direct-care workers are some of the most caring and dedicated people you’re ever going to meet,” Tague said. “From working all hours of the night to care for the sick to ceaselessly helping the elderly, these workers answer one of the highest callings in life, altruistically giving to others. They deserve our total and unmitigated support and I call on the governor and every legislative leader to include funding for them in the budget, beyond any other argument, it’s the right thing to do.”
